Jointly organized by the Tourism Development Department of Tibet Autonomous Region and the Lhasa Municipal People's Government, the press conference on "Winter Tour in Lhasa" was held in Lhasa, capital city of Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region, on Jan 10.
Winter tour routes in Chushur county, Damxung county, and Maldro gongkar county of Lhasa and related preferential policies were released at the press conference.
Representatives from tourism companies introduced the outstanding cultural heritage sites such as the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Norbulingka, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, as well as the magnificent and unique natural scenery of the plateau including Namtso and Sijinlatso, at the conference. The Tibet Museum, which was newly opened in 2022, and other boutique tour routes were also publicized at the event.
In addition to strictly implementing the Tibet autonomous region's "winter tour Tibet" reward and subsidy policy, Lhasa government will also offer subsidies to key scenic spots not included in the national quality rating system, two-star hotels, family hotels at all levels and other hotels until March 15. The move is expected to allow more tourists to benefit from the incentive policies, turn Lhasa's advantages in tourism resource into economic advantages, boost the confidence of the tourism market, and stimulate the vitality of Lhasa's tourism consumption market.
