Huademy, a member of the 14th National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and a chief doctor at the Third People's Hospital of Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region, has closely followed professional ethics and used concrete actions to safeguard the life and health of local people for nearly three decades.

Huademy received a master's degree in public health at Australia's James Cook University and a doctoral degree in respiratory diseases at Harbin Medical University.

As one of the few homegrown holders of doctoral degree in Tibet, Huademy has played a leading role in helping the autonomous region get the COVID-19 epidemic under control.

She has made full use of her professional knowledge and adhered to the science-based approach in the drafting and revision of Tibet's epidemic response plans.

Meanwhile, she has been thinking how to strengthen weak links in Tibet’s public health system. For instance, she has called for a shift in focus from mass nucleic acid testing to the prevention and treatment of severe cases and supported the practice of early medical intervention in a drive to dramatically lower the incidence of severe COVID-19 cases, reduce relevant mortality rate, and safeguard the health of the people.

Huademy has been awarded honors such as National Model Worker, National March 8th Red-banner Holder and Tibetan March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter in recognition of her decades-long contributions to public health in the autonomous region.

During an interview, Huademy pledged to further improve the livelihood of the people and help the public solve pressing and difficult problems.
