Chamdo signs five projects worth 655 million yuan at WCIFIT

At the 5th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (hereinafter referred to as the "WCIFIT"), which took place recently, five investment projects were signed in Chamdo, Tibet autonomous region, with a total investment amount of 655 million yuan ($ 92.94 million). The projects cover energy equipment manufacturing, animal husbandry, commerce, logistics, cultural tourism and more.

During the WCIFIT, Chamdo showcased its distinctive cultural products and investment opportunities. In the culture exhibition area, Chamdo highlighted the rich cultural history and tradition of Tibet, especially the bravery and enthusiasm of Chamdo's Kangba culture. The exhibition hall had five sections, covering economic development, cultural tourism, county characteristics, industrial assistance in Tibet and local specialty products.

More than 20 companies from Chamdo participated in the WCIFIT with over 100 varieties of products. These included such specialties as yak meat, barley products, wine, traditional Tibetan medicine, truffles, Fritillaria, and cordyceps, as well as handmade crafts such as Tangka wood carvings. The WCIFIT also invited renowned Tibetan doctors to provide on-site consultations to promote traditional Tibetan medicine and invited famous Chamdo painters to demonstrate the beauty of the Tangka art technique.

During the conference, relevant officials from Chamdo’s Bureau of Commerce interpreted the investment preferential policies of Chamdo. Mangkang County, Chaya County, Leiwuqi County, Bianba County, Zuogong County, Jiangda County, and the Chamdo Kangdian Clean Energy Investment Corporation also presented their investment opportunities.
