The Tourism Development Bureau of the Tibet Autonomous Region announced on Oct 31 that the market promotion for "Explore Tibet" in 2023-2024 will take place from Nov 1, 2023, to March 15, 2024. During this period, besides temple scenic spots, all A-level scenic spots in the Tibet autonomous region will be free of charge. Three-star and above hotels (including three-star) and international branded boutique hotels in the region will offer off-peak prices.

Since the beginning of this year, tourism departments at all levels in Tibet have made every effort to promote the recovery of the tourism industry, continuously carrying out various activities to expand the influence of Tibet tourism and stimulate market vitality. Data shows that in the first three quarters of 2023, Tibet received a total of 49.667 million domestic and foreign tourists, an increase of 67.4 percent compared to the same period last year, and achieved a total tourism revenue of 59.398 billion yuan, an increase of 46.2 percent year-on-year.
