The Fifth China International Consumer Products Expo concluded on April 18 in Haikou, Hainan province, highlighting the growing presence in the national market of the Xizang autonomous region.
Xizang's pavilion at the expo featured 22 enterprises that displayed over 200 high-quality products across areas such as agriculture, cultural creativity and Tibetan medicine.
The pavilion attracted more than 9,000 visitors, resulting in 1.99 million yuan ($273,557) in on-site sales, a 13.1 percent increase from the previous year. Xizang also secured 620,000 yuan in procurement orders, further boosting the region's brand visibility.
A standout moment was livestream host Dong Yuhui's visit on April 14. His engagement with exhibitors and enthusiasm for Tibetan products sparked excitement. His intention to host livestream sessions in Xizang is said to offer a promising opportunity to expand the market reach of local specialties.
Xizang also leveraged the expo for investment opportunities, hosting a business promotion that led to two signed agreements with a total investment of 1.01 billion yuan.
Shi Chenghua, deputy director of the Xizang Autonomous Region Department of Commerce, emphasized Xizang's commitment to using high-profile expos to connect enterprises with wider markets.
