Located where the Niyang River meets the Yarlung Tsangpo River in Xizang's Nyingchi city, the Yani Wetland spans Dragyib district and Milin county, covering over 8,700 hectares.

With its rich biodiversity and intricate waterways, the wetland is a valuable ecological and tourism site.

Recognized as a national wetland park in 2009, the Yani Wetland saw further conservation efforts with the establishment of its management bureau in 2016.

Over the years, around 176 million yuan ($24.44 million) has been invested in its environmental protection, research and in infrastructure improvements.

The initiatives are widely said to have enhanced its biodiversity while supporting sustainable tourism.

Balancing ecological preservation with tourism development, Yani Wetland has become a popular destination while providing economic opportunities for residents.
