The China Legend Challenge (Lhokha Station) was held on June 2 in Dranang county, Lhokha, Xizang autonomous region, attracting nearly 200 athletes nationwide.

This marked the first high-altitude national kayaking event in Xizang, offering competitors a thrilling experience amid breathtaking scenery along the Yarlung Tsangpo River.

Organized by the General Administration of Sport's Water Sports Center, the China Canoe Association, and the Lhokha government, the competition featured kayaking, cycling, and cross-country running, with divisions for men's and women's open and challenge groups.

The racecourse, starting at Dranang Sand Dune Art Park, blended natural beauty with local culture. Athletes completed 20.3 kilometers of road cycling, a kayak sprint, and a cross-country run, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, rivers, and dunes.

The event highlighted Xizang's potential for outdoor sports, blending athletic competition with tourism. Chongqing's Zhang Jie won the men's open category, while the Tibetan pair secured second place in the challenge group, setting a record for local competitors.

With Xizang's growing role in sports tourism, officials expressed commitment to further developing high-altitude competition brands, promoting ecological and cultural diversity through global sporting events.
