During China's 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the northern area of the Tangula Mountains in Sanjiangyuan National Park has made notable strides in ecological conservation.

With over 907 million yuan ($126 million) invested in more than 50 projects, efforts have focused on habitat restoration, natural resource survey, monitoring infrastructure, and public education. These programs also created over 23,800 eco-management roles, generating 166 million yuan in income for local residents.

To enhance ecosystem integrity, the park has restored 6,298.3 mu (419.89 hectares) of riparian vegetation, over 35,700 mu of degraded grassland, 9,926 mu of wetland, and nearly 19,820 mu of desertified land. Additional initiatives include repairing 45,300 meters of protective fencing, installing 1,300 falconry perches, and building two wildlife feeding stations.

The park has also established 14 satellite-linked stations across the Sanjiangyuan, Qiangtang, and Siling Co reserves. These platforms allow for real-time observation of species like Tibetan antelope, wild yaks, and Thorold's deer, as well as glaciers and key ecosystems.

Public awareness campaigns have reached schools, communities, and pastoral areas. Educational materials — over 20,000 brochures, posters, and booklets — have been distributed, benefiting more than 35,000 residents.
