Founded in August 1956, the Lhokha City People's Hospital is a comprehensive hospital integrating medical care, disease prevention, teaching, scientific research and first aid. The Lhokha Blood Station, emergency center and healthcare center are under the hospital's jurisdiction.
The hospital was rated as the first 2A hospital in Lhasa in 1997 and the national baby-friendly hospital and the autonomous region's high quality civilized service hospital in 1998.
